![]() Kathleen had a laptop computer at home, but didn’t know how to use it to connect to the Internet. So she came into Volcom’s Family Learning Centre, and used our laptops, until she had got the hang of it. Then she brought her own computer in, and we got it set up for her, how she wanted it. And now she is part of the fastest growing group of social networkers in the country – the over 55s! |
![]() Dove House Hospice is a well known local charity which cares for adults in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire who have life limiting illnesses. They regularly use equipment from Volcom from IT equipment to help with training to event materials such as gazebos and games. Sarah Cusick, Fundraising Manager, said: “Volcom is a great resource, they allow us access to great quality equipment when we need it which has saved us a lot of money.” |
![]() The Thorpes Resource Centre had a suite of computers, but they had been out of action for some time, due to lack of maintenance. Volcom volunteer Cilla Wykes, and two apprentices Scott Dockerty and Haydn Grantham-Kilty, went round to give the computers a service, hoover round their insides and get them connected to the Internet. Now they are about to become a UK Online Centre. |
